About Mandy's Farm for Autistic Women

Do you dream of a future for your loved one that's filled with happiness, understanding, comfort, encouragement, growth, and love?

Do you pray that they will be provided for, as you would, for the rest of their adult life?

Do you hope for peace of mind, able to trust someone to care for them just as much as you do - even when you're no longer here to care for them yourself?

Ruthie Robbins understands. That's why she took it upon herself to build Mandy's Special Farm, and ensure a lifetime of good for her daughter Mandy, and other individuals with developmental disabilities.

Admission Parameters

Mandy’s Special Farm was designed specifically for adults with autism and/or autistic tendencies aged eighteen (18) and above. However, Mandy's Special Farm does not discriminate or choose applicants based on gender, disability, ethnicity, religious preference, or any other personal factor for those receiving NM DD Waiver funding.

Admission Duration

Mandy's Special Farm is a long term residential living facility with no limit on length of stay. MSF is designed to care for residents through end of life.

Financial Commitment

Mandy's Special Farm is an approved New Mexico Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver facility. For those who receive this funding, cost of services will be paid for. Currently, this includes:*

  • Twenty-four (24) hour supervision (Note: DD Waiver requires individuals to be integrated in the community 30 hours a week, which is the responsibility of the Interdisciplinary Team and is typically met by a day program, community access, and/or employment outside of their supported living provider).
  • Transportation to/from various local community activities, medical visits, and/or therapy visits
  • On-site recreational activities that include swimming, horseback riding, farming, arts and crafts, computer access, etc.
  • Quarterly progress reports sent to guardian and interdisciplinary team
  • Nursing Services
  • Room and Board

It is the responsibility of the individual and/or guardian to supply anything above and beyond the aforementioned items. Examples of additional items are:

  • Therapy (e.g., speech, occupational, physical, etc.)
  • Therapy equipment or materials
  • Enhanced Staffing (1:1 or 1:2), although DD Waiver typically will increase funding to support this
  • Clothing, including adult protective underwear (e.g., Depends)
  • Medication, including any over-the-counter remedies
  • Food or necessities other than what Mandy's Special Farm usually supplies (e.g., organic or name brand)

For those not receiving DD Waiver funding, Mandy's Special Farm understands that highest quality long term residency requires a financial commitment on the part of a family. We're happy to assist in providing information and expectations about cost, based on your loved one's individual service plan, as well as assist in directing you to potential funding sources.
